Dutch design couple Carolien Vlieger and Hein Van Dam started their accessory label in 2002 with a series of faux-hairdo hats called Hairwear, and a collection of bags called Guardian Angel. Carolien studied graphic design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and Hein studied 3D design from the Academy of Visual Arts and Design in Enschede. This combine of creative disciplines has massively informed their highly original fashion accessories. Everything from global socio-political issues to extreme fashion fads is subject to their innovative yet classic design vocabulary. Most recently they have started working with a high end Dutch Leather Company based in Lichtevoorde, awarded for their sustainable practices. Spyker Cars and Vitra, to name but a few, use their exclusive full grain leather from West European bulls.
