Imperial Solitaire with Umbalite Garnet

Imperial Solitaire with Umbalite Garnet

We are pleased to offer this stunningly beautiful and extremely rare Mahenge Umbalite garnet. Used in adornment for over 5,000 years, garnets were popular in ancient Egypt from around 3100 BC where they were used as beads in necklaces and inlaid jewellery. Even Cleopatra would have loved this one. Mahenge Umbalite is known for its fire and dispersion and the cutting of this stone is of particularly high quality accentuating the innate beauty of this virtually flawless stone. According to some beliefs, garnets are a symbol of light, faith, truth, chivalry, loyalty and honesty.

We have set it in our signature Imperial solitaire setting which has delicate milgrain detail around the side and slightly flared claw detail from the top. A stone of this quality deserves to take centre stage so there are no other accent stones which allow it to be the star of the show.
