Our studio is based on the ground floor within the historic ‘Atlantic Chambers’ building which you enter via Cadogan Street in the heart of Glasgow’s City Centre.
To visit our studio we kindly ask you to pre-book an appointment. Appointments are available Thursday to Saturday. The studio is closed Sunday and Monday.
We can also schedule telephone or Zoom appointments for those unable to visit.

ABOUT US
Brazen is an independent jewellery and goldsmith studio based in Glasgow, Scotland, founded in 2004 by Director and Designer Sarah Raffel. A graduate in Silversmithing and Jewellery from The Glasgow School of Art, Sarah’s passion for design has always driven her work, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative techniques.
In 2004, Sarah opened the original Brazen Studios in Glasgow's Merchant City, creating a space that nurtured the creative spirit of independent designer-makers. The studio quickly became a hub for vibrant retail, collaborative design, and craftsmanship. During these early years, Sarah received multiple accolades, including the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award, the Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust Award, and the NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) Award, for which we remain profoundly grateful.
As the business evolved, Sarah realised that the heart of Brazen lay in the bespoke design and creation of jewellery, working closely with clients to transform their visions into wearable art. This shift allowed her to focus on creating personalised pieces, pushing the boundaries of design with a combination of expert craftsmanship, creative versatility, and cutting-edge digital tools.
Today, Brazen continues to place design at the forefront of everything we do. Each piece is a unique fusion of artistry and precision, tailored to the individual. Alongside our bespoke commissions, we also offer our Studio Collection, a curated selection of one-off and limited edition designs available online, showcasing the breadth of our creative approach.

SARAH
Founder | Designer | Goldsmith
For Sarah, drawing has always been the starting point—an instinctive practice that has shaped her design journey since childhood. She trained as a designer and jeweller at The Glasgow School of Art, graduating with first-class honours in 2003. Since founding Brazen Studios in 2004, Sarah has remained dedicated to a hands-on, personal approach to design, working closely with clients from initial consultation through to the final stages of creation.
Each project begins with a collaborative exploration of ideas, followed by the development of visual concepts that culminate in meticulously hand-drawn elevations. Sarah also offers expert guidance in selecting the perfect gemstone, considering both the aesthetic and technical elements that make each piece truly bespoke. Once the design is finalised and modelled, Sarah takes great care in transforming raw precious materials into their polished, finished form, ensuring every detail is realised to perfection.
GILLIAN
Co-Director
As a previous Events Manager for the House for an Art Lover, Gillian is fully equipped with the skills to steer a project from start to finish and has managed even the most unforeseen circumstances. She has navigated a variety of corporate events and weddings and has an eye for detail and organisation. This has cemented her pragmatic, down to earth nature and as a Mum of two she’s incredibly adept at managing multiple tasks. She is key to keeping the rhythm within the studio and ensures each client project is on track and is responsible for our social media and website. Not only has she a wicked laugh but she is also Sarah’s younger sister and knows how to boss her about.
NIK
Optical Diamond Setter
Nik is a highly skilled and seasoned diamond setter who, in his own words, "has been setting forever." With over 25 years of experience, Nik has honed his craft to a level of precision and artistry that transforms every piece into one that glistens. He has worked closely alongside Sarah for many years, playing an integral role in bringing her designs and goldsmithing to life..
Nik’s unmatched patience, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering dedication ensure that every gemstone is set to absolute perfection. Whether working with delicate diamonds or vibrant coloured stones, his expertise elevates each design, enhancing its beauty and making it something to treasure for a lifetime.
Igor
3D Modelling & CAD Designer
Igor is an exceptionally skilled 3D artist with many years of professional experience. Over the years, he has developed a deep expertise in crafting highly detailed and technically precise CAD models, specialising in fine jewellery design but previously working on some major film within CGO and 3D modelling. His career has included collaborations with some of the most prestigious names in the industry, where his artistic vision and technical precision have consistently set his work apart.
What truly distinguishes Igor is his comprehensive understanding of the entire creative and production pipeline.
