BESPOKE PRICING EXPLAINED

Every piece of Bespoke Brazen jewellery is designed, crafted and brought to life from scratch, and as such generally costs more than our ‘ready to wear’ or custom pieces.

Our bespoke designs involve more design time and demand specific attention to detail in accordance to each client brief. Your piece will involve several hours of hand-drawn design work, individually sourced and hand-picked diamonds or gemstones as well as bespoke modelling and individual precious metal casting. Your piece will then be set by hand in our workshops and expertly polished and finished.

Your first consultation is always obligation free, and following on from that we will be able to provide you with a guide quote based on the current metal prices, your preferred gems and complexity of your design brief. It’s really useful to have a rough budget in mind before you start the process so we can work to this and advise accordingly for both stone and metal choices.

PRICING VARIABLES

STONE CHOICE

One of the main variables within a bespoke design is the stone choice. Type, rarity, clarity and carat weight will all affect the cost of a diamond or gemstone. We’ll source the best possible option(s) according to your budget and will also happily advise of any alternatives that will allow us to prioritise the design and style.

Remodelling existing or heirloom stones is possible and often removes the cost of purchasing new stones, however we must assess the stones prior to remodelling to ensure the type and quality of the stones will allow for this. We must also spend time safely removing and cleaning any existing stones, so a sundries charge will be applied for this. Some gemstones which have seen many years of wear may also benefit from being recut or polished.

METAL CHOICE

We work in all precious metals and will be able to advise the best option for you based on both budget and preferred style. It is important to be aware of the properties of different metals as some may be a better choice than others for your lifestyle. Metal prices constantly fluctuate and the amount of metal required to create your bespoke piece will depend on the overall size and style of design (for example a 5mm gents band will require much more metal than a ladies 2mm band).

DESIGN CHOICE

Every bespoke design is completely different, and the complexity of the design will have an impact on the price. Some designs may not include any gemstones, but require intensive drawing and technical work, while other designs have multiple diamonds or gemstones and therefore require more setting and finishing time.

As a guide, we have minimum spends for our bespoke work which are detailed on the relevant information page.

If you decide our bespoke process isn’t for you, we always carry a range of ‘ready to wear’ pieces that can be viewed and purchased online or by making a Private Viewing appointment. Our Studio Collection pieces cover a wide price range, and are all still designed and created by Sarah and our team. Many of our Studio Collection pieces are one of a kind, so you can purchase a completely unique Brazen piece without the longer timeframe required for bespoke.
